Highly limited cassette tape/download offering from French sound artist Carine Masutti. “Of The Glowing Mud” began it’s life as an audio installation for a photo exhibition by Ville Lenkkeri (Ville is responsible for the cover shot). Carine decided that the body of work should reach a broader set of ears beyond the exhibition hall and Barge agreed.

“Of the Glowing Mud” is an intense mixture of sound design, avant gard composition and experiment in tone and structure. It is an exploratory work that unfolds it’s mystery with repeat listens and immersion. Often sounding alien and organic within the same track, “Of the Glowing Mud” is an expansive mixture of eerie heaviness and delicate sonic architecture. Visions of glacial ice melting, spider webs being spun, Electricity spreading across a grid or cavern spelunking reveal themselves over the two sides of chrome tape. Carine says that Cat’s ears will especially appreciate certain tracks on the album.

Mastered by Denis Blackham and released by Barge Recordings in an edition of 77 cassette tapes. Includes download code.
